Northern Lights 2010.

In November 2009, I returned to this series of paintings that I did in the winter of 2004, these were very popular and I have been meaning to go back to these studies the following winter but was held back from my allotment projects, which I will return to in the spring. Like cooking, I like the idea of seasonal painting, it has to be fresh in you head!

I love the short window of 'Dusk' in winter when the street lights come on and the windows illuminate from the houses. There is something very inviting and cosy about these paintings, and with the recent snow, gives them even more colour and light.
