Caravan paintings
'Vessels of Joy' captures memories of the past as holiday snaps combined with the sadness and melancholy of forgotten and abandoned caravans. Just like his shed paintings, Chris feels that these empty vessels hold secrets and stories and hopes to make a connection between them and the people who once inhabited them.
“With the digital age upon us, we have lost the art of printing our holiday photographs, and instead they just remain in cyberspace on our hard drives. When we look back at them in the future they won’t fade like photos and I feel they won’t have that same nostalgic quality and feeling of browsing through old family albums”
